Writer
Linda Jackson is a writer of songs, poetry, memoir and prose. Her poetry includes 'The Cabinet' (published by Red Squirrel Press, 2021), 'Wanderlust Women:Three Poets' and 'Wanderlust Women: Extra Baggage' (both published by Seahorse Publications, 2021 and 2023). Her poetry is included in many anthologies, including New Writing Scotland and Flight of the Dragonflies and her next collection will be out in early 2024 with Red Squirrel Press.
The first of three memoirs, 'The Siren Awakes' came out in 2020, the next 'Siren: Wild in Me' will be out in late 2023.
Her novel, 'The Mark of the Rose' is now expected in 2024.
Creative Writing Tutor
Linda has taught Creative Writing for 30 years and taught literature for over 40 years. She has worked in Strathclyde University's English Lit dept and the Centre for Lifelong Learning, established a Professional Writing Course at Glasgow City College where she worked for over 15 years.
Linda has worked in a variety of community hubs and centres including Finn's Place where she still teaches creative writing courses for health and well being.
She tutors for SCAP with participants from the asylum seeking community, finding ways to help them express themselves and tell life stories of place and time.
Editor
Linda is the Founding Editor of Seahorse Publications, an independent small publisher seeking to help give voice to those new writers on the block as well as more established poets.
Entirely self-funded to date, She relies on sales from reading communities of like-minded poetic spirits.
An editor over many years, she edited a collection of essays on the writings of Janice Galloway for Edinburgh University Press: 'Exchanges' and more recently a book on the writer, Janet Paisley. 'Growing and Dying' , (Seahorse Publications) as well as books on the Seahorse catalogue plus various other editing tasks for self-published writers.
She is also the editor at SCAP Publishing.

Creative Writing Retreat to Barga, Tuscany.
Finding Barga too beautiful not to share, Linda organised a creative Writing adventure to the Old town of Barga in Italy. Visits included the House of the poet, Pascoli, Art Galleries and studios and a photographic record of emigrated families from the town by the brilliant Caterina Salvi.
